Mount Pilates

Yesterday, after conquering Stoos Ridge, it is now time to conquer another peak of Switzerland… Mount Pilatus.
Mount Pilatus wasn’t as physical to conquer but definitely more fun. We started by taking a short bus ride out of the city. Next, we boarded a gondola for a thirty-minute ride to the Fräkmüntegg ridge. We jumped on an aerial cableway for another five-minute ride to the summit. Here we were greeted with numerous activity opportunities. We chose two different ones.
The first was called the Dragon Ride. The ride had you suspended by a body harness as you hung below a cable. When you were released, it was as if you were hang gliding through the forest, giving you magnificent views over an alpine lake and rugged mountain peaks.
The next adventure on our list was a toboggan run. It’s the longest toboggan run in Switzerland. It was five thousand feet long. You completely controlled your speed, hurling down a chrome steel channel filled with twists, turns, and dragon dens. As I raced down the track, I honestly felt like an Olympian going for gold down a winter luge track.
After playing in the adventure park, we jumped on a ski lift for another five-minute ride to the Mount Pilatus summit. Here, we were treated to numerous hiking trails that led us along steep cliffs accessible only to sure-footed mountain goats.
As the afternoon passed and clouds moved in, it was time to head back down. Our ride down was on the world's steepest cog train, bringing us to Lake Lucerne, where we enjoyed a scenic hour-long boat ride back to our hotel.
